Pennsylvania Institute of Technology Academic Programs
A selection of the programs offered by the school include:
- Medical Assistant Program Certificate – Students are trained in various administrative and clinical tasks. An externship provides valuable experience. Students are prepared to take the nationwide Certified Medical Assistant examination.
- Office Management Technology Specialist Certificate – Students are trained in the various aspects of advanced technology offices. The curriculum includes a foundation in software application packages and basic troubleshooting techniques. The program offers training in spreadsheets, information processing and bookkeeping.
- Computer & Communication Technology Associate Degree – The program offers a broad understanding of the basics of networking and telecommunications. Via hands-on learning, students are also trained in the vendor-independent networking skills and concepts that affect all elements of networking. The program also prepares students for Cisco Wireless Technical Specialist certification exam, Cisco Certified Network Professional or CompTIA A+ and Network+ certification exams.
- Computer Software & Information Technology Associate Degree – Provides a comprehensive review of computer networks, software applications, operating systems and trouble shooting techniques. Students select a track option from the following choices: Programmer/Analyst, LAN/WAN Administration and Helpdesk; and Systems Support Specialist.
- Medical Office Management Technology Associate Degree – The program includes two tracks. Track A prepares students for jobs as registration clerks, receptionists, schedulers and admissions clerks. Track B students are trained for jobs such as medical coder and billing; and coding specialist. After gaining experience they have opportunities to advance into positions such as medical office manager, coding supervisor or billing supervisor.
- Web Design Associate Degree – The program prepares students for entry-level jobs in website design and programming. Students are trained to create images and develop animations for websites. In addition, students are prepared for the Certified Internet Webmaster series of certifications.
Faculty
The instructors have expertise in their field of teaching. Due to the small class sizes, the instructors are able to provide personalized attention.
Student Life
The majority of students attend Pennsylvania Institute of Technology on a full-time basis. Also, academic support counseling and job placement assistance are available. The school also provides a student resource center and one-on-one tutoring and group study sessions are available.
Admissions and Financial Aid
The school has an open admissions policy, however some programs use a selective admissions policy. Financial aid department representatives assist students with putting together a financial aid package. Federal and state grants, loans and other types of financial aid are available to those who qualify.
