Potomac College Academic Programs

The College's programs all have a common core of courses. The core provides the groundwork for careers in a student's area of study. These core classes are augmented by additional courses that further focus students on their professional objectives.

Program areas of study include:

  • Accounting – Program participants learn to capture and clarify financial data. Coursework teaches them to prepare, summarize and interpret financial statements. Graduates can pursue careers as bookkeepers, receivable clerks, payable administrators and other entry-level accounting focused positions.
  • Information Systems – The curriculum is designed to develop graduates with the capacity for efficiently managing information system resources critical to an organization's success.
  • Government Contract Management – Enrollees in this program are trained for careers in government contracting for both private sector and public organizations. Coursework is designed to enable students to grasp the level of detail needed to successfully coordinate and manage these projects.
  • Management – The theory and practice of management is taught in this program. Students learn the strategies and policies that lead to a business running profitably and successfully. Studies are designed to give graduates an in-depth understanding of organizational operations and teach them to be effective at implementing efficient management practices. They will be prepared for management jobs in a variety of organizations.
  • International Business – This program creates opportunities for individuals to gain insight into international standards, policies, regulations and best practices. Graduates will have learned about the diverse components of international business tactics, techniques and methods.
