Academic Programs
Rutgers Business School offers online certificate and master's degrees, such as the following two programs in Governmental Accounting and Finance:
- Master of Accountancy in Governmental Accounting - The nation's only advanced degree program in governmental accounting according to the school. This part-time program consists of ten courses and is designed for individuals desiring specialization and advancement in governmental financial management careers, such as prospective and practicing CPAs, MBAs, and MPAs.
- Certificate in Government Financial Management - Alternative program to the master's program, preparing non-matriculated students to sit for the Certified Government Financial Manager exam. This is a four-course certificate program which can be applied toward the master's degree program.
Learning Options
Online courses in these programs are highly flexible, allowing students to take classes entirely online as well as taking courses on the New Brunswick and Newark campuses. Courses are offered through eCollege, with students completing assignments and taking tests electronically. Coursework is interactive, with threaded discussions between students and faculty.

Admissions and Financial Aid
Admissions to the master's program is on a rolling basis and requires applicants to hold a bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or business. Students must meet all requirements of Rutgers Business School, such as submitting transcripts, recommendation letters, resumes, and essays, among others. GMATs are not required. Financial aid is available to qualified applicants. In addition, reduced tuition rates are available for New Jersey residents as well as anyone in the nation working in non-profit organizations or government.
