About the School

The school offers a culinary education that emphasizes both classic European techniques with modern technology. Graduates are readied for entry- to mid-level careers in the food service and hospitality industries. The facilities are designed with industry-current equipment to help ensure that graduates can smoothly transition into any culinary setting.

The Scottsdale Culinary Institute (SCI) "externship" program provides students with real-world training in local area businesses.

The school is host to two campuses. Camelback Campus contains the Education Department, the Library and Resource Center, L’Ecole student-run restaurant and several kitchens and classrooms. The Sky Bridge Campus accommodates administrative offices, the L’Acadamie student-run restaurant, classrooms and several kitchens.

Academic Programs

Classes are designed to give students a comprehensive combination of culinary arts theory and hands-on training.

  • Bachelor of Arts Degree In Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Management – This track is designed to give students in-depth knowledge of food service operations and preparations along with the managerial skills to develop and supervise a successful restaurant. Trainees learn to combine European culinary techniques with practical applications.
  • Bachelor of Arts Degree in Le Cordon Bleu Hospitality and Restaurant Management – Students will learn how to manage personnel, organizational systems, resources and finances. Graduates will be trained to run a profitable and ethical business. Cultural and legal influences on the hospitality industry are also explored.
  • Associate of Occupational Studies Degree Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts – The program offers hands-on training in demonstration classrooms, state-of-the-art professionally-equipped kitchens. Plus, students can learn classical cooking methods and the qualitative aspects of food preparation, including nutrition and sanitation. Training includes classic cooking methods, nutrition, product quality, cost control and effective communication techniques
  • Associate of Occupational Studies Degree Le Cordon Bleu Hospitality and Restaurant Management – The restaurant management program encompasses all the aspects of managing restaurant facilities through hands-on education. Classes explore practical management techniques, effective communication, Le Cordon Bleu Cuisine and personnel management.
  • Associate of Occupational Studies Degree Le Cordon Bleu Patisserie and Baking Program – The curriculum covers basic culinary techniques, tools and equipment, artisan bread production, pastry production and the design and creation of dessert showpieces. The culinary emphasis is on patisserie and baking expertise.
  • Le Cordon Bleu Patisserie and Baking Certificate – Graduates of this hands-on curriculum, focused on patisserie and baking expertise, are ready for positions as Bakers and Patissiers.
  • Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Certificate – Upon completing the program certificate recipients should possess the technical skills for restaurant food preparation and service. They will have gained an understanding of kitchen management principles and they should have a solid grasp of basic cooking techniques.

There is no on-campus housing; however, the school offers housing assistance and will help students explore local independent housing options.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Applicants must have a high school diploma or an equivalent certificate (GED). Prospective students are expected to show a high degree of drive and ambition to be viable candidates for acceptance. An online application is available.

Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. Tuition Planning staff is available to guide students through the financial aid process. Prospective students are urge to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
