About the School

Smith and Solomon Training Solutions trains students to drive a truck, bus or operate a forklift. The school prepares students to obtain a commercial drivers license (CDL). Training is provided in the classroom, yard and road. Smith and Solomon Training Solutions stays up-to-date with the latest requirements from the Department of Transportation and Office of Safety and Health Administration to make sure students are provided an up-to-date education.

Academic Programs

• CDL A: Tractor Trailer Training program - Students begin by learning the theory of operating a commercial vehicle in order to be prepared to take the written permit test. In the next portion of the program, students learn maneuvers in the yard. Afterwards, under supervised instruction by an experienced instructor, students learn the skills required to drive a tractor trailer on the road. Students gain the knowledge to operate a truck safely and efficiently. The program takes four weeks to complete.
• CDL A: With Passenger Endorsement program - Covers tractor trailers and buses. The program covers theory and provides the required skills to operate a tractor trailer and a bus properly while in the yard. Afterwards, under supervised instruction by an experienced instructor, students learn the skills required to operate these vehicles on the road. The program takes five weeks to complete.
• CDL B: Straight Truck Training program - Students are trained to operate straight trucks or box trucks. Students learn the theory of operating these vehicles to be prepared to take the written permit test. While in the yard, students are also provided the skills they will be tested on. Afterwards, students go out on the road under supervised instruction by an experienced instructor and learn how to drive a commercial motor vehicle. The program takes three weeks to complete.
• CDL B: With Passenger Endorsement program - Students learn how to drive a bus. Students learn the theory of operating a bus in order to be prepared to take the written permit exam. While in the yard, students are also provided the basic skills required to drive a bus. Afterwards, students are provided road training to learn how to drive the vehicle safely and to be prepared to pass the road test.

Smith and Solomon Training Solutions provides full-time night and weekend programs. The school is flexible with class schedules in order to meet the needs of students.
