Academic Programs

Examples of programs available from SCC include:

• Network Administration/Hardware with Wireless Technology Associate Degree program - Covers network design, configuration, administration and troubleshooting and other subjects. The program includes Windows and A+ training. Students are prepared for the Microsoft Certified Program, Microsoft Certified System Engineer and Microsoft Certified System Administrator. The program is designed to prepare students for entry-level jobs in network administration.
• Business and Management Technology Associate degree program - Provides courses in general education, business and computer science areas. The program also covers information management, marketing and business law. The program provides hands-on training with up-to-date computer applications for creating and using databases, spreadsheets and accounting ledgers.
• Computer Drafting and Design Associate Degree program - Provides courses in general education, business and computer science areas. The program covers CAD and drafting techniques including electronic, architectural, civil, mechanical, electronic drafting and 3-D CAD.
• Medical Assistant Associate Degree program - Includes training in administrative and clinical tasks. Training is also provided in preparing patients for examinations and assisting a doctor during an examination. The program includes medical and general education courses. Graduates can take an exam to become a registered medical assistant. Students gain experience in an externship.
• Medical Assistant Technician Diploma program - Students study cardiology, medical terminology, surgical, lab and clinical procedures and pharmacology. Training is also provided in administrative tasks. The program includes an externship.
