About Technical Career Institute
Technical Career Institute provides occupational associate degrees and diplomas in business, computers and healthcare. Hands-on learning is a major part of the programs. The school's goal is to provide students with the skills in demand by employers.
Technical Career Institute Academic Programs
The institute has a variety of education programs, including:
- Business Office Administrator – Offers a solid foundation in computer software applications, interpersonal skills and accounting. The curriculum also includes an office internship.
- Computer and Network Technology – Thoroughly reviews a variety of computer software applications, operating systems and advanced networking concepts. Students are prepared for entry level positions in software and hardware support, network security analysis, networking support, help desk analysis and network administration.
- Computer Support Technician – Training is provided in software applications, operating systems, hardware and software support, databases and the internet. Also, skills are provided in maintenance, repair and installation of computers and related equipment.
- Hospitality Operations and Management – Enrollees are trained for entry-level jobs as food and beverage management trainees, front desk associates, convention management assistants and variety of jobs in hotels, motels, convention facilities and restaurants.
- Medical Assistant – Provides training in basic office procedures, preparing patients for physical examinations, working with medical records and other tasks. Students have the opportunity to gain experience through an internship.
- Pharmacy Technician – Provides training in the school's laboratories. Students acquire experience through an externship.
- Massage Therapy – Offers training in a variety of massage techniques including Swedish massage. Graduates have the opportunity to take the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
Other programs include those for accounting technology, computer software applications, Emergency Medical Services (EMT/Paramedic), dental assistant, medical insurance specialist, medical office administrator, and phlebotomy technician.
