About TESST College of Technology

TESST College of Technology was founded in 1957 as an electronics training school known as TESST Technology Institute. The college is now owned by the Kaplan Higher Education, one of the world's largest private educational providers with one million students every year across the United States and abroad.

TESST College provides career-focused associate degrees and certificates in the areas of healthcare, computers and technology, legal, and professional trades. The programs available may vary by campus. According to the college, the curriculums are designed to meet the needs of employers.

TESST offers a wide range of training options for students. The curriculums are organized into the following areas:

  • Computers – Study options include: business management; support technician; electronics, computing, and telecommunications technology; and network information systems and technology.
  • Healthcare – Offerings include: medical assistant; medical coding and billing; and pharmacy technician.
  • Legal Studies – A Criminal Justice degree program is available.
  • Professional – Includes programs for: electrician; Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD); and refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning.

    The college offers numerous education programs including:

  • Electrician – Offers the basics of electricity and its practical applications. Students are trained in commercial, industrial and residential wiring and transformer installations and service requirements. Students are prepared for entry-level electrician jobs.
  • Medical Assistant – The program provides training in areas such as EKG's, vital signs and injections. Basic accounting procedures and charting and documentation are also part of the program. Graduates have the opportunity to take the Registered Medical Assistant exam. The program also includes an externship.
  • Pharmacy Technician – The program offers training in a variety of tasks including selecting drug products, dispensing and labeling drugs, transcribing doctors' orders and hospital charts. Also, students gain experience through an externship.
  • Criminal Justice – Offers a solid foundation in law enforcement, private security and corrections. Graduates are prepared for entry-level jobs.
  • Computer Support Technician – Enrollees are offered the knowledge and skills to provide administration, maintenance and support for computer systems and networks. The curriculum also includes a thorough review of computer hardware and software.
  • Electronics, Computer and Telecommunications Technology – Offers electronics technology principles along with component repair and logical troubleshooting techniques. Students are prepared for the Certified Electronics Technician exam and A+ certification.
  • Network Information Systems – Offers a comprehensive review of operating systems, software and hardware and other topics. Enrollees are provided the skills and knowledge to seek employment in network operations and computer technical support.
