About the School

The College of Westchester was established in 1915 as Westchester Business Institute. Currently, the college offers career-focused programs in the areas of allied health, technology, business and multimedia. The school offers undergraduate and certificates in business administration. A partnership with CompTIA offers students the opportunity to earn a variety of technical certifications. The college's goal is to keep all the programs current with the demands of industries. In addition, the college also provides over 10 computer classrooms, situated in the school's five-story 50,000 square foot facility.

Academic Programs

The school offers a variety of programs including:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration Degree – Offers courses in technology management, finance, project management and marketing.
  • Medical Assistant Management – Students are trained in a variety of administrative and clinical procedures. Enrollees learn to take medical histories, record vital signs, perform electrocardiograms, update patients' records and other tasks.
  • Accounting – Offers training in accounting, business and software.
  • Business Office Systems Administration – Provides a broad understanding of Microsoft Office. Students are also prepared to work with a variety of office related technologies.
  • Network Administration – Offers a comprehensive review of the design, administration, maintenance, support and security of Microsoft Windows and Cisco Networking Systems. The program emphasizes hands-on training.
  • Digital Video and Animation – Includes the knowledge and skills required for employment in the fields of television, film, web design, architecture, game design, medical imaging and other topics.

Faculty

Student Life

The culturally diverse student population typically consists of close to one thousand students with about five hundred attending the college full-time during the day. The Career Services representatives provide assistance to students beginning with their first semester. The College of Westchester also includes a library. Admissions and Financial Aid

A high school diploma or a GED certificate and an interview with an admissions representative is required. Advanced placement programs and results from the American College Test (ACT) may provide students with college credit.
