Learning Options
As an online program students are welcome from all over the world. Over 130 countries are represented in the online student body.
The online coursework is structured with the needs of working professionals in mind. All coursework, discussions, and group activities are completed in an 'asynchronous' online environment for which students and instructors can login to interact at any time. The are no set times for lectures. Courses run in eight week modules with students typically taking one course at a time to facilitate detailed study of topics. If their schedules demand it, students can take a break between modules.
Students work part time towards fulfilling their degree requirements. Typically degrees are earned between two to six years. Each degree has one or more core course requirements followed by electives.
Faculty
The University of Liverpool Online faculty reflects the diversity of the student body. Its instructors come from approximately 20 countries. The faculty members have broad and in-depth work backgrounds together with advanced degrees. Over 60% of the instructors have doctoral degrees.
Student Life
Online students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and offer a broad range of perspectives. Most will have at least several years of professional experience (the average has been over 10 years) and often hold senior management positions. The course structures and mix of backgrounds all help students to build life-long professional relationships that would otherwise be difficult to develop.
The University maintains small virtual classes of up to 20 students to facilitate interaction and networking between students and faculty. Assignments and class discussion topics are frequently oriented around actual work issues. Group projects are usually undertaken with three or four classmates, often across time zones.
The Centre for Student Success provides students a wide array of skills modules (academic and technical) and support services that can improve and develop their academic and study skills to help them succeed in their postgraduate programme. Student support managers are available. The school also provides an eCampus Community.
Admissions
Admission requirements vary by program. Usually a university or college degree is needed or a comparable professional qualification. In some programs a minimum level of work experience is a prerequisite. Programs may admit those without prior degrees but with substantial professional experience or other previous qualifications. All prospective students must be able to communicate at a minimum level of English.
The school's Enrollment Advisors work with prospective entrants to assess their fit with the various program alternatives.

"I am very satisfied with the quality and flexibility of the course. Of course, nothing is perfect, but this is a great value for the money."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale
| Characteristic | Rating | Comment |

| Would Recommend? | yes | I would recommend this course to any busy professionals who are disciplined and able to manage time well. It is a valuable educational experience that is conveniently packaged. |
| Satisfaction With Major | 9 | This is a high quality, well-structured course. Time management can be a challenge with certain modules. |
| Instruction | 9 | Most instructors are obviously well experienced in their fields. The basic standard of instruction is great, but the relative inexperience of one or two tutors in evident. |
| Cost | 5 | Overall costs are higher than I would like. The availability of payment plans do make it easier to pay tuition. |
| Schedule Flexibility | 9 | Other than one or two submission deadlines per week, students can pretty much study when and where they choose. This makes online courses perfect for people with multiple responsibilities. |
| Academic Facilities | 9 | Online resources and accessibility of tutors are both very good. There are occasional problems accessing library articles. |
| Social Life | 5 | There is not much opportunity for socializing. That is probably to be expected with online courses involving busy professionals. |
| Placement Services | 5 | Career and placement services do exist. The problem is that these services are not very accessible. |
| Alumni Network | 5 | Support is very good, but networking is not very evident. |

| Would Recommend? | yes | As I said earlier the school is good and it's worth studying there. However, it does depend on an individual's interest. |
| Satisfaction With Major | 2 | I feel bored to study online. Would have been better to study as a regular student. |
| Instruction | 5 | Quality of curriculum is good. My preparation was not up to the mark. |
| Cost | 6 | The cost was reasonable, but I feel like it's a waste for me since I am not interested in completing the course. |
| Schedule Flexibility | 6 | My school's class schedule is quite flexible to change. They do not force me to stick to set times. |
| Academic Facilities | 3 | Good academic facilities and resources are available. It has a very good library. It's up to the students to make use of it. |
| Social Life | I was not involved in social activities. I had other work to do. | |
| Placement Services | 5 | The job placement service is good. Many of my friends have been placed in good companies. |
| Alumni Network | I am not familiar of the alumni network and support, but I heard it's good. |

"The school wasn't anything special. I didn't learn much, if anything."
Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

| Would Recommend? | maybe | If someone wants a cheap school that provides degrees online, then sure. If you have the opportunity to go to a real university, then do that. |
| Satisfaction With Major | 5 | Nothing special about the Univ. it was pretty much what I expected to get out of it. I don't think the university was any different than any other ones that were online. |
| Instruction | 5 | Like I said before, there was nothing special about it. Also, It was online so it didn't prepare me very well for anything. |
| Cost | 5 | The price was about average compared to other places. The amount of content they had was also about the same. |
| Schedule Flexibility | 10 | It was very flexible b/c it was all online, so I just looked at powerpoints if I ever missed anything. It made class easy, but at the same time I didn't really learn much. |
| Academic Facilities | 3 | The academic facilities that were online weren't very good. I learned much more from other websites, like wikipedia. |
| Social Life | I didn't go to the actual university, so I couldn't say much about school spirit. I also don't know about the parties because I was schooled online. | |
| Placement Services | 1 | They didn't help me at all in terms of careers/job search. I was simply left on my own after all my work. |
