About Tucson College
Tucson College is a career training school for the fields of information technology, allied health and electrical technician. Practical learning is a major part of the curriculums. Many programs include an externship which students participate in after completing the coursework.
Tucson College Academic Programs
The school's programs include:
- Pharmacy Technician – Blends theory with practical learning. Graduates are eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certification test.
- Administrative Assistant/Computer Applications Assistant – Students are trained in the basic and intermediate levels of the numerous Microsoft Office software applications. The program also offers a broad understanding of operating systems, network connections and the internet. A comprehensive review is also provided in accounting software and accounting principles.
- Medical Office Billing and Coding Specialist – Offers training with coding and preparing insurance claim forms manually and via computers. Students are also prepared to perform a variety of administrative tasks in medical offices.
- Certified Nursing Assistant – Enrollees are trained to objectively observe and document vital information. Certified nursing assistants have the opportunity to seek employment as nursing assistants and home health aides. In addition, graduates are prepared to take the CNA Examination.
- Patient Care Technician – Students learn to perform laboratory tasks in the areas of hematology, urinalysis and phlebotomy. Enrollees are also trained in providing acute care procedures in hospitals, extended care facilities and nursing homes.
- Medical Assistant – Students are provided the skills to perform basic laboratory procedures, assist doctors with medical examinations and work with electrocardiograms. Enrollees are also provided training in administrative tasks. Graduates have the opportunity to take the Certified Medical Assistant examination.
- Electrical Technician – Graduates are prepared for a variety of entry-level electrical technician positions. Electrical code, motors and transformers systems, manual and electronic industrial controls and wiring installation are studied in the program.

Student Life
The student population is mostly female. Regarding employment, students are assisted with locating part-time and full-time jobs. The career placement services representatives assist graduates in finding employment by working directly with businesses. In addition, the administrative representatives and faculty are available for vocational and academic advice.

Admissions representatives are available to assist students select the appropriate career path. Financial aid is available to those that qualify.
