About the School

United States University (formerly InterAmerican College) prepares students to provide bilingual, bicultural services in healthcare and education. The university offers career-oriented undergraduate and graduate degree programs and certificate programs.

Academic Programs

A collection of the programs available at United States University is shown below:

  • RN to BSN program - Designed for registered nurses who want to further their education by taking a bachelor's degree program in nursing. The program includes plenty of hands-on training. The program can be completed in 10 months.
  • MSN-FNP program - Designed for RNs who have a BA or BS degree. Graduates will be able to practice in collaboration with a doctor with their own license. The program can be completed in 20 months. The program includes clinical hours and a family health project.
  • Entry Level Master of Science in Nursing (Pre-Licensure) program - The objective of the program is to prepare students for a registered nursing position as a generalist who is able to work in a variety of healthcare environments. The program covers professional nursing roles, human beings, health/illness and the environment. The curriculum also covers the nursing process. Graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN Examination in the state of California.
  • Multiple Subject Teaching Credential - Designed for those who want to teach grades K-8. The comprehensive program includes student teaching. The curriculum includes theory and method coursework. The program includes option credits for BCLAD (bilingual teachers) and the RICA exam.
  • Single Subject Teaching Credential - Designed for those who want to teach at a middle school or a high school. The credential can be earned in one year. The curriculum includes theory and method coursework. The program includes option credits for BCLAD (bilingual teachers) and the RICA exam.
