The University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), is one of four campuses of the University of Nebraska. Founded in 1905, UNK offers a diverse selection of undergraduate, graduate, and pre-professional programs. In addition to campus programs, UNK offers distance learning programs through their UNK eCampus, with a mission of providing quality educational programs to nontraditional students such as working adults, both in Nebraska and around the world. Online degree programs are academically equivalent to campus programs, with the majority of courses taught by full-time UNK faculty members. UNK is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges & Secondary Schools.

Learning Options

Online courses allow students the flexibility of completing coursework at their own pace, within deadlines set by the instructor at the beginning of the semester. UNK online courses are offered in the fall, spring, and summer. On average, students can expect to spend approximately nine to 12 hours per week on coursework. Courses are interactive, with students and faculty communicating through discussion and chat groups, as well as via e-mail.

Faculty

Online courses at UNK are taught by the same highly qualified, degreed faculty with the majority having doctoral degrees that teach campus programs. Due to the interactive nature of online coursework, students and faculty regularly communicate throughout the program.

Student Life

UNK strives to provide quality student support services, including 24/7 student support and library services, online orientation and tutorials, and an online bookstore and writing center, among others.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Admissions requirements vary by program, but students should provide UNK with any official transcripts and complete an application for admission. Additional requirements may be requested such as letters of recommendations, essays, current resumes, standardized tests, and GPA requirements, among others.
