School Reputation8It is a pretty well known school. However, the party reputation is not always happily accepted.
Satisfaction With Major6The classes are a bit too big to personally get to know the professor. However, the professors are competent and knowledgeable.
Instruction8The professors are professional and experienced. However, it is sometimes hard to truly interact due to the large class sizes.
Cost6The overall price of tuition and the education you get is fair, especially for out of state students. However, room and board are overpriced.
Schedule Flexibility10You are able to make your own schedule and it is not difficult to get the classes you want. They also offer plenty of online classes, which is very convenient.

Would Recommend?yesI would recommend the school based on convenience. Everyone I know works or is significantly busy. Being able to go to class at night was extremely convenient.
School Reputation5I haven't heard anything specifically about my school. I have, however, heard multiple times that people do not find favor with an online school degree.
Satisfaction With Major7I had to take some time off due to personal family issues. I went through a divorce and left an abusive spouse. I only had 2 classes left to take for my AA. When I contacted them to go back approximately 15 months later, I was told I now have to take 5 classes because their initial class requirements (the how to study/time management/intro to college fluff classes) had changed and the ones I originally took and spent thousands of dollars on no longer applied.
Instruction8I learned a significant amount of information on business in each of my classes. I have been able to utilize this knowledge in the workplace.
Cost1
Schedule Flexibility10I was working full time. The Kline capability was wonderful. I could still go to work full time, be a mom in the evening, and study at 3 am.
Academic Facilities5I was taking my classes online. I don't really like the online library. I did not find it to be user friendly.
Social Life1My courses were online. The only socializing we participated in was on the message boards. I did not enjoy that part of the courses.
Placement Services1I was not even made aware there was job placement. If a student doesn't know that is an available tool, then they get no points in this area from me.

Instruction7The instructors were very qualified to teach. The courses prepared me for business communication.
Cost3The tuition was somewhat expensive. The prices were easier to take because of my flexible schedule.
Schedule Flexibility10The courses were very flexible for my schedule. I took online courses.
Academic Facilities10The library sources were second to none. The academic advisors helped me select the courses I needed to succeed.
Social LifeI was not involved in any social activities. I pursued an online degree.
Placement ServicesI did not use the service. I immediately pursued a higher degree elsewhere.
Alumni NetworkI have not used the alumni network.

"The school offered a military discount for their students, but I never once received the discount. When I would try to talk to someone about it I always got the run around. I also was told that military spouses don't get the discount, which is not what their website says."

Would Recommend?noI believe it is too expensive for what you get out of the school. I also think that if possible it would be better to try and go to a traditional college and get your degree.
School Reputation5I am not really sure how employers feel. I do know that I don't think a lot of employers really think of a lot of online degrees in general.
Satisfaction With Major1I do not feel like I learned all that I could had I gone to a classroom setting. I sometimes wondered if the teachers were even qualified.
Instruction1I do not feel like I learned much. I believe that the online degree has caused me to not be able to get a job.
Cost1I think that the classes were highly priced. I also feel like I really didn't get what I should have out of the class.
Schedule Flexibility10I loved taking the online program. If it wasn't for the online classes I don't know how I would have gotten my degree.
Academic Facilities5With the online classes a lot of these things were not used as much. I do wish the academic advisors were more helpful.
Social Life5I rated this average because I have no connections with the people socially. After my classes were finished I never talked to anyone.
Placement Services1I do not feel like they help you find a job once you finish your program. I also think that once you finish their school that they are not there to help you at all.
Alumni Network1I do not feel that the alumni is there to help. I can not find on their website where they help to find jobs.

Satisfaction With Major8I love Law, and I think that you get a good career starter with a legal studies degree.
Instruction5Some of the things I learned were review from high school, BUT the teachers were amazing.
Cost5I'm not swimming in cash, but I'm also not dirt poor. I think it was about normal.
Schedule Flexibility6I took evening and online classes, so I had the whole summer and all my mornings free.
Academic Facilities7I spent most of the time in the library... like a book worm.
Social Life7I went off campus for parties...

Studying High Performance Computing (completion in: 2014)

11/19/2011

"Everything is good for me. I just have a problem with the lack of sports."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesIt would be a great experience. It will help them A LOT.
School Reputation10Everyone knows and loves the school. It's also the first school many big businesses visit to find employees.
Satisfaction With Major9The school that I am attending is a very hands on school. Instead of students reading things and having to figure stuff out, they actually work with things and figure things out with their hands. For example, my major is High Performance Computing - instead of me sitting down every class period and my professor just telling us how to build a computer, we build it ourselves, step by step.
Instruction10This is only my first semester in college and I have already learned more in one semester than I have in my entire lifetime. About a year before the student graduates the school helps them with their resumes, they recommend people to companies, they will help students find jobs, and they will try their best to make sure the student has one.
Cost10It only costs me $1000 a semester. My school does not charge much.
Schedule Flexibility10My class schedule is so broken up and I have a lot of free time so that I can work at my job on campus. If a student need to change their class times they can easily do it.
Academic Facilities10The library provides everything for students. They provide movies, books, magazines, etc.
Social Life7I have met many different types of people at my school. However, it is not the type of school a person who wants to play sports should go to.
Placement Services10They work hard to make sure that the students get jobs. They work hard to make sure that by the time the students graduate, they will have everything that they will need.
Alumni Network10There are many students that have graduated from my college and returned to be teachers. They have a high number of graduates.

Studying Bachelor Of Science In Business (completion in: 2010)

11/17/2011

"The school fulfilled my need to obtain a bachelors of science. Most importantly, the courses fit my complex work schedule."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?yesThe school will offer you the opportunity to obtain a degree that may open doors. It's professors also provided the foundational knowledge that has allowed me to expand my opportunities and practice within my field.
School Reputation10The school's employers were wonderful. Every time I called, they were extremely helpful and directed me the right way.
Satisfaction With Major10I was very satisfied with being able to complete school online. Being a professional, the flexibility of taking online courses allowed me to efficiently obtain a bachelor's degree.
Instruction10The principles studied were a great introduction to general business practices. Even though the online courses did not offer experience, they offered the basis for understanding what my profession may hold.
Cost8I do wish the school was more affordable, as I had to borrow money to complete the educational requirements. However, Western International University offered me the opportunity to complete a bachelors of science with my complex work schedule.
Schedule Flexibility10The course schedule worked out incredibly well with my work schedule. The ability to take online courses was a major plus, and it was the main reason I attended Western International University.
Academic Facilities5The academic facilities were available, however I did not use them since I took online courses. The professors were accessible and offered tremendous support.
Social Life2I received news on several gatherings. Being an online student, I did not take advantage of many social experiences.
Placement Services5The fact that the school assisted me in obtaining a bachelor's degree has opened the doors to potential career opportunities. On the other hand, the school has not directly informed me of specific positions.
Alumni Network2I have not had the opportunity to network with alumni. It would be wonderful if the school offered more opportunities to meet alumni.

Studying AA In Business (completion in: 2007)

11/13/2011

"Like I said, I loved the school. I just didn't like the price."

Ratings are on a 1-10 scale

CharacteristicRatingComment
Would Recommend?noI would have at the time. Now, however, there are schools that offer more degrees online for cheaper prices. AND, they are local.
School Reputation5Eh, is there even a reputation? I don't think so. lol
Satisfaction With Major5WIU online was great. The only thing I have against it is the price. A typical community college would not charge near the price WIU charges for the same Associates Degree. At the time I went there, there were no other options. Now, however, online programs are popping up everywhere. I think WIU should lower their price.
Instruction10WIU online had quality instructors. I liked it because it was very organized, and the assignments were explained well. I've gone to other online colleges since, and they have not done as well with this. WIU gets two thumbs up for the fact that the facilitators are great.
Cost1Way more expensive than other schools. At the time, it was the best I could do. Now, there are so many CHEAPER online options.
Schedule Flexibility10I went online, which was awesomely flexible.
Academic Facilities10It was online, but there was a good online library.
Social Life1I have only one friend from my AA classes. I think this is because I went online.
Placement Services1I still have no job. In fact, I am worse off than before. Online schools fail at this...
Alumni Network1Is there an Alumni network? lol
