Academic Programs

Examples of programs available from Western include:

• AOS Degree - Automotive Technology - Thorough training is provided in all the areas of the ASE standards: engine performance, suspension and steering, brakes, automatic transmissions and transaxles, heating and air conditioning, electricity and electronics and engine repair and rebuilding.
• AOS Degree - Information Systems & Security - Students are trained to incorporate various types of computer hardware and software in support of networking solutions through Microsoft, Linux and Cisco applications. Students are also trained to program routers and configure servers. In addition, students learn modern security measures that protect networks.
• AOS Degree - Refrigeration & HVAC Technology - Trains students to diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on a variety of sophisticated equipment. The program includes plenty of hands-on training.
• Health Information Technology Certificate program - Provides training in the subjects of health claims examining, medical records coding and medical billing. Graduates can apply for positions at private healthcare practices, hospitals, clinics, nursing facilities, insurance companies, government agencies and consulting firms.
• Advanced Welding Technology Certificate program - Provides training in GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), SMAW (ARC) and Inner-Shield arc welding (FCAW). Training is also provided in cutting and welding with oxy-acetylene, carbon arc-air cutting and metallurgy.
• Medical/Clinical Assistant Certificate program - Trains students for multiple medical positions. The program covers administrative and clinical duties.
