Overview

Alabama Southern Community College, also known as ASCC, is a community college located in southwest Alabama, United States. Alabama Southern was formed in 1991 by the merger of Patrick Henry Junior College in Monroeville and Hobson State Technical College in Thomasville. ASCC was established in the year 1991. The college offers undergraduate, university transfer, occupational and distance learning programs in the following academic divisions:

  • Business Technology
  • Nursing
  • Allied Health
  • Cosmetology

In addition, the college also offers several honors programs to outstanding students.

ASCC has an active campus life. There are several student clubs and organizations that operate in the campus. ASCC Student Leadership Association, Baptist Campus Ministries and Ethnic Student Society are some of the student associations and student clubs in the campus. Phi Beta Lambda, Phi Theta Kappa and PSI Beta are some of the honors societies operating in the campus.
