Alabama State University

Alabama State University is a public, historically black university. It's campus is located in Montogomery, Alabama. It was founded in 1867 as the Lincoln Normal School of Marion. After several name changes, the Institution was named the Alabama State College for Negroes in 1948. In 1954, it was again renamed as the Alabama State College. In 1969, the school received university status and was given its present name.
