Albright College, established in 1856, is located in Reading, Pennsylvania. The Albright Collegiate Institute, which was founded in 1895, became Albright College in 1898. Union Seminary, which was founded in 1856, was rechartered as Central Pennsylvania College in 1887. These two institutions merged in 1902. Schuylkill Seminary, which later became Schuylkill College in 1923, amalgamated with Albright College in 1929, to form the present college. The main campus is situated on over 118-acres. The college offers educational programs including biochemistry, Latin American studies, environmental science, psychobiology, and information systems.
The College is affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the Eastern College Athletic Conference and MAC. The teams participate in field hockey, soccer, basketball, cross country, swimming, tennis, softball, and volleyball. The students are active in the Resident Students’ Association, the Albright Anime Society, the Caribbean Culture Club, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
