Overview

Alderson-Broaddus College, or A-B College, is located in Philippi, West Virginia. It traces its roots to Broaddus College which was established in 1871, and the Alderson Academy and Junior College which was founded in 1901. The status of these two institutions changed over the years, and they merged in 1932 to create Alderson-Broaddus College. A-B College is affiliated with the West Virginia Baptist Convention, and the American Baptist Churches, USA.

Alderson-Broaddus College has been ranked among the best baccalaureate colleges in the South by U.S. News & World Report's 2010 edition. Students are offered degree programs through the following academic divisions:
