Overview

Alfred University, also known as AU, is a small, comprehensive university located in Alfred, Western New York, United States. It was established in 1836 as a non-sectarian institution by the Seventh Day Baptists. AU offers more than 60 majors and areas of concentrations. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

  • The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
  • The College of Business
  • The Inamori School of Engineering
  • The Graduate School

AU has an active Greek life. The campus is home to several fraternities and sororities for more than 100 years. There are more than 100 on-campus student clubs and organizations including the American Marketing Association, Caribbean Student Association, and American Institute of Graphic Arts.
