Alice Lloyd College is located in Pippa Passes, Kentucky. The college was chartered under the name Caney Junior College by Alice Spencer Geddes Lloyd and June Buchanan in 1923. In 1890 the college became a four-year degree granting institution. Alice Lloyd College offers bachelor’s degrees in arts and science. Minors in chemistry, mathematics, english, biology and accounting are also offered at the school. Students can also opt for pre-professional programs in optometry, veterinary medicine, law, physical therapy and dentistry.
Students at Alice Lloyd College develop interpersonal skills, social responsibility and pursue their individual interests in clubs and organizations. Some of the popular clubs include Phi Beta Lambda, Voices of Appalachia, Allied Health Sciences Club, The Law Society, Infusion Club, Hiking and Camping Club and The Eagle Theater Club. Alice Lloyd College is a member of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference of the NAIA. Their sports teams take part in basketball, cross country, softball, baseball, and golf.
