Overview

Allan Hancock College, or AHC, is a public, community college located in Santa Maria in northern Santa Barbara County, United States. The college has been a gateway to higher education for more than 88 years. AHC enrolls more than 10,000 credit students and over 5,000 noncredit students each semester. The main aim of AHC is to promote bachelor degrees that residents can earn locally. The college offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.

There are various students clubs and organizations on campus for overall development of the students. Some of the clubs are Alpha Gamma Sigma (A.G.S.), an honorary statewide community college organization; Club Candela, established to promote salsa dancing and entertainment on campus; and Spanish Club, established to promote and educate students about the varied Spanish speaking cultures.

AHC also participates in various sports. Their athletic teams are nicknamed the Bulldogs.
