Overview

Allegheny College is a private college located in Meadville, Pennsylvania, United States. It was established in the year 1815. The college was founded by Rev. Timothy Alden. The first classes were held on July 4, 1816. Allegheny College has more then 2,000 students enrolled and approximately 134 faculty members. It sprawls over 540 acres of land in Meadville.

Alleghany College publishes a newspaper called "The Campus." It has more than 100 students clubs and organizations. It is also home to several Greek Organizations such as Delta Tau Delta, Theta Chi, Phi Kappa Psi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Phi Delta Theta, Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Kappa Kappa Gamma.

The sports teams of Alleghany College are nicknamed the Gators, and their colors are blue and gold. The college is a member of the North Coast Athletic Conference.
