Overview

The Appalachian School of Law, also known as ASL, is a law school located in Grundy, Virginia. It was established in 1994 when Joe Wolfe, a lawyer from Norton, Virginia came up with the proposal to create a law school in Central Appalachia. ASL offers a three-year Juris Doctor degree. ASL also offers a special Pre-Admission Summer Opportunity program for exceptional students whose LSAT and GPA did not reflect their abilities.

The Appalachian School of Law offers a wide variety of students support services. It offers career counseling and job assistance to its students. The campus hosts several student clubs and organizations as well, including the American Bar Association-Law Student Division, the Sutin Public Interest Association, the Black Law Students Association and Phi Alpha Delta.
