Arkansas State University-Main Campus

Arkansas State University, also known as ASU, is a public university and the flagship campus of the Arkansas State University System. It is the state's second largest college system and fourth largest university by enrollment. ASU was founded in Jonesboro in 1909 by the Arkansas Legislature as a regiona, agricultural training school. It began providing a two-year college program in 1918, and became First District Agricultural and Mechanical College in 1925. It gained university status in 1967.

ASU’s main campus is spread across an area of 800 acres. There are several other campuses as well. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

Arkansas State Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. Arkansas State is in the Sun Belt Conference for major sports.
