Overview

Baker College was established in 1911 as Baker Business University. It was merged with Muskegon College in 1965. The colleges came together and formed the Baker College System. In the years that followed the merger, Baker Business University was renamed Baker Junior College. Both of the colleges eventually became non-profit corporations.

Over the years, Baker College has added more than 10 campuses, all situated in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. The Baker College of Muskegon shifted to a 40 acre campus in 1997. Together, the two colleges offer certifications and associates, bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in numerous disciplines.
