Bangor Theological Seminary was established on February 25, 1814; the name of the institute is abbreviated as BTS. Initially, the seminary was located in Hampden and moved to its present-day campus in Bangor, Maine in 1819. The seminary confers master’s as well as doctoral degrees to students. Students at BTS can choose from programs like divinity, Anglican studies, pastoral theology and ministry studies. Apart from this, BTS offers a mentored training program to students, enabling them to gain practical work experience. The seminary has an additional campus in Portland, Maine.
Bangor Theological Seminary encourages students to be a part of the Worship Committee, which organizes various on-campus worship services. The seminary offers financial assistance to needy and eligible students in the form of federal grants, loans and scholarships. The institute also provides externship opportunities to students.
