The Bank Street College of Education, also referred to as Bank Street, is located in New York, New York. Lucy Sprague Mitchell established it as the Bureau of Educational Experiments in 1916. The college was so named due to its former location on Bank Street in Greenwich Village. It moved to its present location in the early 1970s. The college is recognized for progressive educational approach. It is also widely known as a training ground for the best private and public school teachers in the city.
