Barry University, also referred to as Barry, is a private, coeducational, Catholic university located in Miami Shores, Florida, United States. It was established in 1940 as a college for women and was named Barry College for Women. Later, it transformed to a coeducational college and gained university status on November 13, 1981. It was then renamed Barry University. The main University campus stretches over more than 120 acres of urban land.

Housing and MealsBarry provides on-campus housing for 1,092 of its 7,093 (full-time) students (as of 2007). Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 20 meals weekly.
Barry AthleticsBarry is in the Sunshine State Conference for major sports. Barry offers financial aid for athletes. Of students receiving athletic financial aid, 65 male students received the aid (men were 48% of those receiving aid) and 70 women were awarded financial aid based on athletics (representing 52% of students receiving such aid) .
