Overview

Baylor University, or BU, is a private, Baptist-affiliated, research university located in Waco, Texas, United States. It was founded in 1845 and is the largest Baptist University in the world by enrollment. BU is a member of the Association of Southern Baptist Colleges and Schools. The university is known for its programs in business, law, music, theology, and science.

Room and Board

Baylor provides on-campus housing for 4,732 of its 14,864 (full-time) students (as of 2009-2010). The school requires freshmen to live on campus.

Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 16 meals weekly.

Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Big Twelve Conference for major sports.

The school offers financial aid for athletes. Of students receiving athletic financial aid, 163 male students received the aid (men were 53% of those receiving aid) and 142 women were awarded financial aid based on athletics (representing 47% of students receiving such aid) .
