Belhaven College

Belhaven College is a privately-run institution located in Jackson, Mississippi, United States. It was founded in 1883 by the Presbyterian Church. However, it is presently run by an independent Board of Trustees. The College grants admission to more than 1,300 students every year.

The college's sports teams for men and women are known as the Blazers and Lady Blazers respectively. The official mascot is the Blazer. Men from Belhaven College participate in intercollegiate cross country, basketball, golf, football, baseball, tennis, and soccer. Women from the college participate in intercollegiate volleyball, softball, tennis, cross country, basketball, and soccer. The cheerleading squad, known as the Belhaven Blazer Cheerleaders, accompanies the teams to various championships in order to act as college ambassadors as well as to inspire the teams.

Housing and Meals

Belhaven provides on-campus housing for 562 of its 2,403 (full-time) students (as of 2007). The school requires freshmen to live on campus.

Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 19 meals weekly.

Belhaven Athletics

School sports include football (Mid-South Conference), basketball (Gulf Coast Athletic Conference), baseball (Gulf Coast Athletic Conference), and track (Gulf Coast Athletic Conference).
