Overview

Bennet College for Women at Greensboro, North Carolina was started in 1873 and was originally a co-educational institute. In 1926, the college was converted into an all women's institute. Bennet College for Women is a historically black, four-year liberal arts college.

Bennet College for Women offers students with programs leading to bachelor’s degree. The programs cover areas such as arts management, biology, business administration, computer science, political science and journalism and media studies. The college also offers dual degree programs in engineering areas such as chemical, electrical and mechanical engineering.

Bennet College for Women has a number of recreational and cultural clubs. It also has an active Greek life consisting of a number of Greek letter organizations as well as a student government association. The college has its basketball team which is nicknamed as the Belles.
