Beth Medrash Govoha

Beth Medrash Govoha is also known as Bais Medrash Govoha or BMG, and is located in Lakewood Township, New Jersey. This Haredi institution was established in 1943. It is the largest Talmudical Academy in the US and is also among the largest in the world. The institution was established by Rabbi Aharon Kotler along with 13 students. The academy offers bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees in Talmudics only for the students who qualify for the degrees. The academy also offers distance learning programs to its students.

The Chaburah system is a group study that is very important at BMG. In this study, 10 to 70 scholars study specific sub-texts in the Talmud. The Rosh Chaburah leads this study group.
