Bethune Cookman College gained university status in the year 2007 and is now known as Bethune Cookman University. The institute was originally established in the year 1904 and is located in Daytona Beach, Florida, United States. This historically black university enrolls more than 3,000 students on an annual basis. There are seven degree granting schools under this university:

Bethune Cookman University, or BCU, has more than 50 student clubs and organizations on campus. These include Alpha Phi Alpha, Phi Beta Sigma, Young Democrats, Circle K International, and African Student Association. BC's male students participate in sports such as baseball, basketball, golf, tennis, and football, and the women participate in basketball, bowling, softball, volleyball, and tennis.

Housing and MealsBethune Cookman provides on-campus housing for 1,787 of its 3,304 (full-time) students (as of 2007). The school requires freshmen to live on campus. Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 21 meals weekly.
Bethune Cookman AthleticsSchool sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. Bethune Cookman is in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference for major sports.
