Overview
Bishop State Community College was established in 1927 in Mobile, Alabama. It started off as a branch of the Albama State College and became a two-year college in 1936. The community is comprised of four campuses, situated in Main, Baker-Gaines Central, Carver and Southwest. There are other off-campus sites situated in Mobile and Washington Counties as well.
BSCC is home to several two-year Junior, Community and Technical Colleges. It comprises more than 5 Academic Divisions and over 3 Technical Colleges. BSCC offers programs in Humanities, Natural Sciences, Engineering and Commercial Studies. It also has an active student life, sponsoring a number of clubs and organizations. These include the Health Occupations Students of America, Students in Free Enterprise and the Student Government Association.
