Blackburn College

Established in 1837, Blackburn College is a four-year private liberal arts college. The college was named in honor of Rev. Gideon Blackburn. The campus is located in Carlinville, Illinois. Blackburn College is the least expensive private college in the area. Blackburn College offers a variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study such as art, chemistry, education, psychology and medical technology.

Apart from academics, the students at Blackburn take part in various clubs and organizations. Some of them include Blackburn Christian Fellowship, The Element, Common Ground, Newman Club, Habitat for Humanity, Cultural Expressions, House Councils, and Student Senate. Burnian Newspaper is the monthly campus publication. The students are also actively involved in sports such as baseball, softball, volleyball, golf, basketball, and football.
