Overview
Bluefield State College, also known as BSC, is located in Bluefield, West Virginia. It was established in 1895 as Bluefield Colored Institute and is a historically black college. BSC has education centers in Summersville, Beckley, Welch, and Lewisburg, West Virginia. The college offers an array of degrees and certificate programs through the following schools:

BSC is home to a number of Greek Organizations including Alpha Kappa Alpha, Lambda Chi Omega, Eta Omicron Tau, Phi Sigma Phi, Phi Sigma Zeta, Lambda Chi Omega, Delta Chi Omega, Phi Kappa Gamma, and Phi Alpha Chi.
BSC participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II. Their sports teams are called the Big Blues, and they are members of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
