Overview

Boise State University, or BSU, is a public university located near downtown Boise, the capital city of Idaho, United States. It was originally founded in 1932 as Boise Junior College by the Episcopal Church. After a few name and status changes, it finally gained the status of university in 1974. The main campus consists of more than 150 buildings and is spread across an area of 175 acres.

BSU offers more than 200 degrees in over 180 areas of study. The university is made up of the following academic units:

Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Western Athletic Conference for major sports.
