Overview

Bowling Green State University was established in 1910 as the Bowling Green State Normal School. The university is also known as BGSU. In 1929 it gained the status of college and in 1935 it became Bowling Green State University. BGSU covers more than 1300 acres in Bowling Green, Ohio. The university offers over 200 undergraduate programs and several other master degrees. As of 2007–2008 academic year, the total student population of BGSU is more than 20,000. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

The sports teams of BGSU as commonly known as the Falcons and participate in the NCAA Division I. The Falcons are members of the Mid-American Conference. The women’s basketball team won Conference Championships in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Mid-American Conference for major sports.
