Overview

Brevard College, also known as BC, is a private, liberal arts United Methodist college located in Brevard, North Carolina. It was established in 1934, as a result of a merger between Weaver College and Rutherford College. Brevard College confers several undergraduate degrees in diverse areas of study including environmental studies, ecology, mathematics, psychology, theater studies, music and history.

Brevard College has an active student life with several on-campus clubs and organizations. They include Student Government Associate, Music Educators National Conference, Brevard Percussion Society, and Peer Health Advocating Team. Brevard College’s athletics department sponsors several men’s and women’s sports teams. They compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics), and Division II of the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association).
