Overview

Broome Community College was created in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts & Sciences at Binghamton. It became Broome County Technical Institute in 1953 and Broome Technical Community College in 1956. The college settled on its present name in 1971. It is a part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. The college is located in Binghamton, New York and includes around 15 buildings.

BCC includes many on-campus student clubs and organizations, including the Accounting Club, Asian Students International Association, Ecology Club, Chemical Dependency Club, Japanese Animation Club, Medical Laboratory Tech Club, Phi Theta Kappa, Lumiere Film Society, and many more.

BCC participates in a wide variety of sports like soccer, volleyball, cross country, tennis, lacrosse, football, golf, softball, ice hockey, basketball and baseball. Its athletic teams are nicknamed the Hornets.
