The Cabarrus College of Health Sciences is located in Concord, North Carolina. In 1942, the Cabarrus County Hospital opened a three-year diploma school of nursing to cater to the robust demand for registered nurses during World War II. This school was renamed the Louise Harkey School of Nursing in 1992, and it became the cornerstone division of the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in January of 1996. The College offers associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing, occupational therapy assistance, surgical technology and health services management, among others.
The Cabarrus College of Health Sciences is home to a number of organizations, such as the Student Government Association, the Cabarrus College Association of Nursing Students, the CCHS Honor Society of Nursing and the Christian Student Union. The institute also job placement assistance to its recent graduates.
