California State University Bakersfield is a public university located in Bakersfield, California. It was established in 1965 and its main campus was opened in 1970. Tiday, it is spread across an area of 375 acres. It is a part of the California State University system. The university offers more than 30 bachelors and 20 masters degree programs in diverse areas of study. CSUB also operates a satellite campus, known as the Antelope Valley Center, in Lancaster, California. It is organized into the following academic schools:

  • School of Natural Sciences & Mathematics

CSUB is home to more than 90 official student clubs and organizations along with an active Greek life. Some of the notable alumni of the university are Kevin McCarthy, U.S. Politician; Big Poppa E, professional slam poet; and Tito Ortiz, UFC Fighter.
