Overview

California State University, Northridge is commonly referred to as Cal State Northridge or CSUN. The university was established in 1958 and was initially known as the San Fernando Valley State College. In 1972, the university adopted its present name. The main campus encompasses 353 acres of land in the San Fernando Valley. CSUN is divided into the following colleges:
