Overview
California State University, San Bernardino, or CSUSB, is a state-funded university in San Bernardino, California, United States. It is part of the California State University System (CSU). It was founded in 1965 with a few hundred students and 30 faculty members. Today, the university enrolls more than 16,000 students every year.
CSUSB offers more than 70 programs and certificates in diverse areas of study. Many programs of the university have earned specialized national accreditation. The university is organized into the following academic units:

- College of Education, Extended Learning
- College of Natural Sciences, and Social
CSUSB has the highest retention rate for African-American students, and third highest retention rate for Latino students, in the California State University System. There are more than 80 different student clubs and organizations on campus. The athletic teams are nicknamed the Coyotes, and they compete in the California Collegiate Athletic Association in the NCAA's Division II.
