Carlow University is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in the year 1929, and the Sisters of Mercy from Carlow, Ireland, played an important role in establishing this university. It was formerly known as Mount Mercy College and gained university status in 2004. Students are offered degrees through the academic schools and divisions of the university, which are:

Housing and MealsCarlow provides on-campus housing for 407 of its 1,656 (full-time) students (as of 2007). Students may purchase a meal plan which includes 19 meals weekly.
