Overview
Carson-Newman College is a Baptist, liberal arts college located in Jefferson City, Tennessee, United States. This private college was established in 1851 as the Mossy Creek Missionary Baptist Seminary. It became a college within a few years and was named Carson College in 1880. In 1889, Carson College merged with Newman College, which was an all women's school, and formed the first coeducational institute in the South. Carson-Newman College currently sits on a 100-acre campus. It offers enrollment to more than 1,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students every year.
Carson-Newman College offers various graduate and undergraduate programs of study. Students can opt for courses in art, athletic training, biochemistry, child and family studies, business, sociology, religion, computer science, film studies, nursing, languages, mathematics, and history, among others.
