Overview

Central Connecticut State University, also known as CCSU, is a state university in New Britain, Connecticut. It was established in 1849 and is the oldest public university. CCSU ranks third oldest of all universities in Connecticut. The campus is spread across an area of 165 acres.

CCSU offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

CCSU is notable for its politically active student body. The Progressive Student Alliance (PSA) serves students who are left-leaning/liberal. School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Northeast Conference for major sports.
