Overview

Central Piedmont Community College, also referred to as CPCC, is a coeducational, public community college in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. It is part of the North Carolina Community College System. The College was founded in 1963 through a merger between the Mecklenburg College and the Central Industrial Education Center. The College has eight physical campuses and one virtual campus. All physical campuses are located in the Metro area of Charlotte.

The College has a cosmopolitan student population including whites, Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians/Pacific islanders. Each make up a significant portion of the student population.

The College sponsors intramural soccer for students who wish to participate in the sport.
