Overview
Cerro Coso Community College was founded in 1973, and is situated in Ridgecrest, California. It was set up as a separate college within Kern Community College District. Collectively, the campuses of Cerro Coso Community College together cover an area of nearly 18,000 square miles. The college has 5 instructional sites:
- Bishop Campus
- Indian Wells Valley
- Kern River Valley
- Mammoth Lakes Campus
- South Kern
Cerro Coso has been providing online classes since 1997. It offers academic and technical/ professional programs in diverse fields of study.
Cerro Coso Community College is home to numerous clubs and organizations. Some of them are an Arts and Leisure Club, an Athletic Club, a Care Club, and Phi Theta Kappa. The college also has baseball, basketball, softball and volleyball sports teams.
